How to Burn Cue Files Using Nero
This tutorial will show you how to burn my mixes onto CD WITH track separation. That's right, you can download a full mix in MP3 mode and burn that onto a regular CD and have it play just like a regular CD. You will also be able to skip through songs without having to hold down the forward button.
What are Cue Files?
Cue files, in short, are text files that stores information about the CD such as Artist, Title, Track Names, Track Numbers, Track Length, and Performers. The basic cue file will have a FILE, TRACK, and INDEX. Look at the Cue File below which was taken from my "A Year of Trance 2005" mix. In the cue file, you can see the main performer (DJ Tsyle), the title (A Year of Trance 2005), the file name (Tsyle - A Year of Trance 2005.mp3), and the track names. The original cue files has more tracks, but I have taken out all but two tracks for this tutorial.

How do I burn Cue Files with Nero?
Here are step by step instruction on splitting the mp3 into tracks and burning it without gaps..
- Open Nero Burning ROM. You may get to this using the Wizard but it is a lot faster to just click on the Nero Burning ROM link in your program menu.

- Once you have open Nero Burning ROM, a Nero program call " New Compilation" might show up. Just cancel the New Compilation form if it does show up. Below is a picture of how "New Compilation" form looks.

- After you have closed the New Compilation form, find the Burn Image tool. This may be in different location depending on your Nero version. In Nero 6, the Burn Image tool is located under the Recorder menu.

- Choose files of type "Images Files (*.nrg; *.iso; *.cue)" or if you don't see that option, choose "All Files(*.*)". After you have set the file type, go find the location of your cue file. For the mixes off this site, the cue files are located in the same folder as the actual mix. After you have selected the Cue File, press "Open".
IMPORTANT: Make sure the MP3 file is in the same folder as the cue file before you open it with Nero.

- After you press open, Nero will act like it froze. Don't worry, this is completely normal. What Nero is doing right now is stripping the MP3 into sections so when you burn it, there will be no pause in between tracks. Once again, NERO WILL LOOK LIKE IT FROZE, BUT IT DIDN'T. Just let Nero run untill you see the screen below. It may take up to 5 minutes depending on your computer speed.

You will see this screen after Nero finish cutting the MP3 file into sections.
- At this point, choose the Write Method Disc-at-once. After that, just press burn. Everything pass this should be normal.
